Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture, or Andelsjordbruk in Sweden, and is method of directly supporting farmers and food producers by subscribing to a 'share' of the seasons harvest. This commitment on behalf of the consumer allows the farmer to better plan their seasons crops, reduces waste, and allows the farmer to spend more time growing food during the busy growing season because the produces is pre-sold to the customer. CSA is a popular sales model in many countries and is an excellent way to support small-scale agriculture and build community!

2. What happens to my share if I go on vacation?

There are two different options for members who are on vacation during the growing season.
Option 1: Arrange with a friend or neighbour to collect your share while you are away.
Option 2: We allow up to two share holds per season in exchange for credit towards next season's membership.

3. Will I be able to eat all of the veggies that I get in my weekly share?

The weekly vegetable share is designed to be a well-balanced variety of commonly used kitchen veggies with a few more exotic items mixed in. The shares include a mix of leafy greens, roots, and aromatic items such as onions, garlic, herbs, etc..

A weekly newsletter with a farm update, recipes and any important info will be included in each weeks share.

Planning a weekly soup night before the next week's share is delivered can be a great way to use up any extra veggies.
